Shada Islam, is a Brussels-based independent journalist with extensive experience in international trade relations and negotiations. She was for years the European correspondent for the Far Eastern Economic Review weekly magazine and contributed to the BBC, the Pakistani daily Dawn and numerous other publications and broadcast organisations in Europe and Asia.

She attended and covered the recent meeting of the World Trade Organisation in Hong Kong for the German news agency DPA and reflected, analysed and forecast on the results of this historic event for the first Asia-Europe Project Webcast briefing of the year.
