Shada Islam and Plamen Tonchev discuss the forthcoming publication of his new book (in Spanish) entitled "Pakistan: El Coran y la Espada" (Pakistan: Quran and Sword).

Mr. Plamen Tonchev is Head of Asia Unit at the Institute of International Economic Relations (IIER), Athens, Greece. Has studied External Relations of the EU and Diplomacy at the University of Athens. On a number of occasions he has been a member of international observation missions to 'hot spots' in Asia.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Plamen Tonchev is Head of Asia Unit at the Institute of International Economic Relations (IIER), Athens, Greece. Has studied External Relations of the EU and Diplomacy at the University of Athens. On a number of occasions he has been a member of international observation missions to 'hot spots' in Asia. His last assignment was as the Deputy Head of the EU election observation mission to Afghanistan in 2005. Since 2000, Mr. Tonchev has been a visiting lecturer at leading universities, think-tanks and colleges. The list of his publications includes books and monographs as well as articles in academic journals on Japan, China, the Korean peninsula, ASEAN, Central Asia and Transcaucasia, India and Pakistan. His latest publication is the book (in Spanish) entitled "Pakistan: El Coran y la Espada" (Pakistan: Quran and Sword).

 

 

 

 

Shada Islam, is a Brussels-based independent journalist with extensive experience in international trade relations and negotiations. She was for years the European correspondent for the Far Eastern Economic Review weekly magazine and contributed to the BBC, the Pakistani daily Dawn and numerous other publications and broadcast organisations in Europe and Asia.
