Coming Soon Oriental Affairs newsletter This Asia-Europe Project Internet site will soon begin experimenting with the publication of a new electronic and print newsletter devoted to cutting-edge, value-added information, analysis and commentary on current events and trends affecting relations between Asia and Europe, and other regions and actors as well. The focus will be on the emerging political and economic presence of China and East Asia, although other global and regional relations and trends will also be a staple element of its coverage. Oriental Affairs--is the title of a newspaper originally published in Shanghai in the early 20th Century when that city had attained a status as a vibrant, modern, metropolis. Examples of the original publication may be read on the website of our colleague Graham Earnshaw-- Tales of Old China http://www.talesofoldchina.com/introduction/introduction.php. The forthcoming Oriental Affairs newsletter will at first published on the Asia-Europe Project website until it establishes itself as a viable, commercial publishing venture.

Special Reports Major studies and reports are either in the process of being prepared or will be updated on a continuing basis on a number of key policy areas. These will become available at special rates to members of the organisation and to other interested parties on other terms. The reports will be extensive analysis of importance elements of the Asia-Europe relationship issued separately at various intervals during the year. |
